I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Canva (Sydney)
Interview
I was referred, and receive a first round call from HR, however as I haven't previously coded with Java I wasn't considered in any capacity. There is no option to sit the entrance exam in a language you're familiar with. It's a little disappointing as I have 4 years of Ruby experience. It's safe to assume Canva receives enough applications from quality engineers that have the Java experience required.

Question 1
Do you believe you'll be able to pass the Java based entrance exam?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Canva (Melbourne) in Oct 2021
Interview
I applied for backend developers on the portal. The ad says the work will be mainly in Java but open to all language experience. Once I introduced myself and said my main experience was in .Net. The recruiter simply conclude the interview saying you possibility of pass the interview is pretty low since you don't have solid Java experience. Well, it's a pretty fair reason if it is stated in the ad, but a bad one if the HR people don't hire based the ad.
