I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Canva (Sydney) in Jan 2021
Interview
Very long interview process.
First round with recruiter
Second round with engineer for basic coding 45 mins
Three hours long interview with three engineers
First engineer will ask some css and layout questions and was totally non interactive and looks sleepy or tired.
Second engineer in second part had extremely bad communication skills and it was very hard to understand what he was saying.
Third part with two engineers and again css questions and they themselves don't know css properties and expects us to know remember everything.
Final part values interview which was good.
Last email being not selected and waste of 3 weeks for nothing.
No local candidate works for them because of the extremely bad interviewers. If you don't remember one css property in one interview you're rejected so don't bother to waste your time.
In my opinion spend this much time for big tech companies interview than wasting it for Canva.
Interview was good. The guys conducting the interview knows his stuff. But the interview questions weren't really good, Some are old school questions and nothing to do with the role.
Overall, the interview process is good. The interviewer gave me another chance and suggested to apply later.
The first round was ok, building a logic for a simple kids game.
Second one includes 3 interviews back to back to back and was a but harder then I expected, The position was for mid-level developer.
