Question 1
Explain the role of garbage collector in Java. What is finalize() method in it?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capgemini (Bengaluru) in May 2018
Interview
It was the first time i was attending interview of a mass recruiting company. Although i got call from Capgemini to attend the interview, but it was a walkin and a huge number of candidates were present. I felt like to leave as soon as i reached. But after travelling for 20 kms, i thought it is better to waste few hours more and attend the interview.
Waited for around 1-2 hours for the interview. The interviewer(an architect) was quite good. Although i felt that she was not having much knowledge. The interview went for like 30-45 minutes, with very easy questions. She was quite impressed by my personal projects which i did, and mostly asked questions on them. She wrote "selected" on the review paper in front of me. And also spoke to HR, that i have a very strong knowledge(infront of me).
Got a mail to submit documents the very next day, and then the most unexpected thing happened. I had asked for 40% before coming to interview, and they agreed for it. But after getting selected, i was told that, they cannot offer me much, as their salary bandwidth is equal to my current CTC. I told, i cannot negotiate below 30%. And that was it. Wasted a full day, for capgemini interview.
