      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capital One (Vienna, VA) in May 2017

      Interview

The process started a few months back when I applied for a position through LinkedIn. Recruiter reached out to me saying hiring leader wants to talk with me. I had the phone interview with hiring leader and as per me, I did well in the phone interview. However, next week recruiter called me back saying that hiring leader does not want to proceed. After few weeks, the same recruiter reached out to me for a different position. I had screening call and this time they invited me for an on-site interview in their Vienna VA office. They had 4 interviews - 1) Job fit with hiring leader 2) Job fit interview with co-worker 3) Design Challenge 4) Product case interview. As per me, I did well during all rounds but unfortunately, I did not get the offer. Recruited was very courteous and helpful during the whole process and she also called me to tell that they are not going ahead with the offer.

After applying, there will be a Recruiter screen, Product and Case Interviews, followed by Behavioural and Fit Interviews. Overall the whole process was very structured and the hiring team were responsive.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Nottingham, England) in Mar 2021

      Interview

The interview process was quite long compared to other companies, however it was actually great to experience it, as it was all relevant, and tested your ability more than your experience. I did have some trouble with communication initially being passed between people, however given Covid-19 has changed ways of working a lot, this was to be expected. In the later stages communication was brilliant. For the actual interviews there was two rounds. The first was a product interview with the hiring manager, and the second was a set of three interviews over the course of a week, consisting of a Job-Fit chat - which was quite informal, a Behavioural Interview (Give me an example of a time X) and a Case Study with a conceptual stage, and you're also asked some basic maths questions. You're marked on communication here too so make sure you explain everything including what you don't get through. I froze on the case study at a simple maths question, it's certainly harder when it's virtual as you don't have the information in front of you. I didn't get offered the role based on the case study, which is fair. Everyone was super-friendly and genuinely wanted you to be at your best. Great company and interview process in my experience. It was just a shame I had a brain blank. At least I know what to work on for next time, since the feedback was detailed.
