I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Feb 2013
Interview
Initial contact was on campus through university recruiting. After submitting a resume and cover letter, I was contacted to do a phone interview pre-screen. The pre-screen was a fairly simple business case that involved a little bit of algebra and solving for company profits as a function of costs, price, and quantity sold of a couple of different products.
Afterwards I was contacted to fly out to the Richmond office to interview in person. There was a single behavioral interview, and all of the questions in this interview were provided the night before by an HR representative. The other interviews were all business case problems, principally ones that revolved around the credit card industry, although there was one that was a little bit more abstract.

Question 1
After presenting a situation in which companies bid to provide utility services to consumers, the interviewer asked me about how companies would choose to bid in order to maximize their profits.
Online problem solving exercise, followed by a 3 hour "powerday" with two cases and one product strategy interview. Cases are very numerical, more focus on calculations, and a few creativity based questions as well.
