The hiring process at Cisco takes an average of 46 days when considering 2 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for CSM had the quickest hiring process (on average 1 day), whereas Intern Field Sales roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 90 days).
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cisco (Bengaluru) in Jul 2012
Interview
1 Telephonic Round followed by 2 Technical Rounds. Questions were basically from Networking basics (ARP, Routing Basics, Troublesooting) and Network Security Basics (Firewall, NAT, IPS). Other questions related to your previous projects and about the general Software life cycle
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Cisco in Jan 2013
Interview
A guy from the company e-mailed me and we set up a short phone interview. He was nice, and he told me a lot about the project I might be working with him on if I decided to join. Then, he wanted to ask me a few (Java-related) questions to make sure I was technically sound:
- What is encapsulation?
- What's the difference between a HashSet and HashMap?
Possibly a few more, but all I remember happening next was he found out I was a first-year student still (he said he wanted a third or fourth year on the phone, but that wasn't apparent when I was applying, and I guess I had a pretty good resume), and we realized we had wasted about half an hour talking to each other.
