I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Co-op (Manchester, England) in Mar 2017
Interview
Interview process very quick. They got in touch to arrange an assessment centre for the following week. Assessment centre included 20 people interviewing for 3 positions, plus internal candidates. Very long winded. Introduction, 1 hour group task, 1 hour individual task and 1 hour interview. Found out the outcome within 5 days but they were unable to offer any feedback or reasons for being unsuccessful. I requested feedback and have since been waiting 2 weeks for it, with nobody getting in touch despite having sent them a follow up email. Really unprofessional experience and a waste of an afternoon.
Competency based interview and presentation. Structured interview starting with work experience, then followed by questions about specific things you have achieved in previous roles. There was also a presentation for which you have some time to prepare.

Question 1
Competency based around examples of things you have done.
I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Co-op (Brighton, England) in Feb 2017
Interview
I handed in my CV and they gave me an application form to fill in and give back as soon as possible. I got a call the next day arranging an interview date.
The interview was fairly straightforward and not too formal. I was given a set of three scenario questions (randomised) and I had 10 minutes to prepare answers for them then the interviewer assessed me based on my answers by going through a sheet and ticking things off and prompted me when I was struggling. After that they talked about my available hours, which they seemed to care about more than the actual scenario questions as they wanted someone who was flexible with their time.

Question 1
Someone approaches you complaining about how untidy the bakery was and how the food they wanted was never in stock. How would you handle this?
The area behind the tills is always untidy and your co-workers can't find anything and two of them start to argue in front of the customers. What do you do?
