2 sets of online tests a candidate must pass before they find out whether they’ve been selected for an interview. I must say the questions are times and quite difficult to answer as at times all answers seem to be the right ones and it’s really hard to choose the least favourable one.

Question 1
They were all online test. I haven’t been put through for an interview.
Thank you for your review of the application process. We understand that some of the questions in our assessments can feel challenging, especially when several answers seem equally valid. It’s important to know that there are no right or wrong answers but instead, your responses help us understand how closely your natural preferences and decision-making style align with the role and our values.
Feedback is provided via a link after the assessments are completed to help candidates reflect on their strengths and areas for development. However, we never reveal specific “answers,” as the assessments are designed to explore behavioural tendencies rather than test knowledge. We really appreciate the time and thought candidates put into this stage of the process.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Co-op in Mar 2025
Interview
Online application process followed by psychometric tests.
The interview was online and lasted 90mins in which I was asked a number questions I had been given beforehand in addition to role related competency questions.
Neither of interviewers showed any interest in being there and had nothing positive to about the company or the role.
At the end of the interview I was told I would hear back the following week, I later received a call to say this had been delayed at I would have an answer the next Monday. I did not receive any update despite multiple emails and phone calls, it was 6 week later when I managed to speak to someone in HR who chased up for me that I was sent a rejection email advising although I met the standards they had offered the position to someone else who was a better fit - meanwhile the role is still advertised.

Question 1
Forging Relationships – Describe a time when you have had to lead or guide a team to influence stakeholders.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
We understand how disappointing it is to experience delays in communication following your interview. While there were some internal challenges during that period that affected our usual response times, we acknowledge that we could have done better in keeping you updated.
We’re also sorry to hear that your interview experience felt disengaging. That’s not the impression we want to leave, and we’ve shared your comments with the relevant teams.
One of our Talent Acquisition Advisors has tried to contact you to provide further feedback. If you’d like to follow up directly, we’d encourage you to email coopcareers@coop.co.uk so we can assist you further.
