The Cognizant interview process generally consists of 3-5 rounds, beginning with an online application, aptitude tests (quantitative, logical, verbal), and, for technical roles, a coding assessment. This is followed by a technical interview focusing on DSA, DBMS, OOP, and projects, with a final HR interview on behavior and, for freshers, a communication assessment.
It's an easy interview. All are basic questions on Java, sql, DBMS, OOPS. Questions on projects and random hr questions etc. Interviewer was so Friendly. He comforted throughout the interview. It's an virtual interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Cognizant in Feb 2026
Interview
In the third interview, with the product managment team, I was asked mostly technical architecture and business questions, in my opinion, inproper of a designer interview. Luckily, before designing, I've developed software for many years and have a lot of knowledge. So I could answer with full confidence.
Worse still is that the interviewer confused himself on some of the technical questions and ended up confusing me. I had to correct him at a given point, and that meant I was out. It was a question about PWAs that, just by chance, I had worked on a month ago.
