I applied for a position and was contacted by DHL. During the phone call, I explained that I did not speak German yet. We continued the conversation in English and scheduled an interview. However, when I arrived for the interview, the interviewer spoke to me entirely in German, even though I had clearly stated both during the call and again at the beginning of the interview that I did not speak German. The interview didn’t feel like a real interview at all. From the basic knowledge I have the interviewer simply stated that I needed better German. I don’t understand why they asked me to come in if they already knew about my language limitations. It felt like a waste of time for both parties.
