I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Deloitte (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2010
Interview
Begins with a campus recruiting type event, followed by an interview on campus provided your resume is acceptable by Deloitte's standards (or you know someone to get yourself an interview). Campus interview includes stock behavioral interview questions, shouldn't be anything that wasn't taught to applicants already. Make sure you address each point appropriately putting additional weight on the resolution (prove how you are able to generate positive results, or, in the event of a negative example, how you learned from the outcome). Succeeding at the campus interview level provides an opportunity for an office visit. Here you will meet with varying degrees of Deloitte employees. The logistics of the interview will be conducted by the HR representative. Interviews will take place with a Partner/Director and a Manager. Usually followed by a lunch with a staff/senior. Make sure you find a way to relate to whomever you are interviewing, and prove you are enjoyable to be around during this stage.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your proudest accomplishment? (need to be prepared to brag about yourself)
It was an on campus placement interview, they mostly asked about my CV and personal achievements. Some questions were regarding basics of accounting like principles of accounting and treatment of depreciation and other items in all 3 statements.

Question 1
about my prior internship experience and how i developed myself through it.
5 rounds of interview - 1 HR, 2 technical, 1 Versant (english understanding and communication) & 1 Partner. Partner round can be technical or general depending upon your partner. Questions can range from "why audit" to core accounting and auditing questions
the interview was very conversational. entry level position is not technical at all but you should bring in experience anyways. didn’t get the position but interviewers seemed very laid back and were probably taking the interview from their phone
