Describe how you face adversity (this was asked on my third interview.)

I gave two examples, but was questioned by the VP if I REALLY thought those were some of the hardest things I've faced. She then asked me if I really knew the meaning of adversity... when confidently answering, "Absolutely," she basically laughed in my face.
