I came to NY to do a few informational interviews with alums from my alma mater. At DB, there is a lot of networking that goes on with the alums - for a lot of schools that is the key way to get an initial interview. You need to also network within your school (MBA). Talk to all the 2nd years - they funnel the info to alums. Each school (if you're core) has a recruiting team that keeps a tally of who you've spoken with, general impression, etc. That is the key to interview. Final interviews had some technicals but I have found that DB puts a lot of weight on fit/culture - all else equal. People are very down to earth and personable. Once I got the offer, very hard sell. Don't regret accepting offer and joining.
