Starts with phone call, then a skype call with video. Phone call is with a recruiter who is a contractor. The second call is with hiring manager, then the hiring director. Sometimes there is a panel interview based on the position and how many open positions within the team,

Interview
No room organised, was kept waiting 20 minutes. Never even offered a cup of water. Dingy offices in Bishopsgate. When the HM finally found a room we got kicked out by another team who'd actually booked the room and was forced to conduct the interview in a corridor.
The chap to whom I was handed over seemed to have no prior warning and I would venture no interview experience whatsoever. He asked me some badly formulated programming questions where I had to repeatedly explain that the problem was unfortunately unsolvable because of errors; the questions made no sense at all (but I ventured a guess at what he meant to ask). After *finally* realising this and correcting one of his own questions in 3 different places, I answered it perfectly and immediately. He then condescendingly stated, "well you got there in the end, but you were very slow though."
He then went on to ask me about some XML used to drive some specific IoC container. I told him that I'd never used that specific IoC container (I didn't to profess to have done, nor did it state this requirement on the role specification). Regardless, he just asked question after question on this XML for half an hour after I eventually had to tell him I that I didn't think it beneficial to either party to proceed any further with the interview.
