I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Pennsylvania, AL) in Oct 2023
Interview
The first interview was a 30-45 minute phone call, of course they want to know how you found out about the position, what mad you want to work for them, where they stand in the list of potential jobs, how long have you been doing this type of work and why you prefer it. Most I can say is be yourself and speak it into existence!!! Also if they really like/need you they will IMMEDIATELY off a second zoom interview.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Discover (London, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
Interview was held online via Teams. Both interviewers were friendly. The only odd point was that neither interviewer turned on their camera. This made it difficult to understand whether the person would ask a question and made it difficult to judge whether the interview was going well.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Sep 2023
Interview
Met with their top "architect". Using quotes here because IMO someone who has been with the company 20+ years with good knowledge about the company but outdated/stale skills in the area of modern software engineer was probably promoted to that position for other reasons. They asked me questions that were hot about 15 years ago. I did not get an offer but would think twice before accepting it as I got a pretty vivid picture of my future there.

Question 1
What is the difference between monolith and microservices based systems. Advantages using microservices. Interviewer seemed more interested in finding holes in your Resume than assessing your skills. They clearly hadn't prepared for the interview and were going over my Resume during the process.
