I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Mar 2015
Interview
Applied online, got an email and had a phone interview. Heard back almost immediately that they wanted me to come in for an interview in 2 days. Had a candidates day at HQ where we learned about the company, had a short case study, several Q&As, and finally short, casual 30 min interviews with 2 employees

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Discover
Interview
First round interview on-campus. It was two 1:1 interviews. The first one was very conversational and us talking about all the things on my resume. The second one was all behavioral/situational questions. For the second (final) round interview, they flew me out to their headquarters, which is in Deerfield, IL. It was a whole day of interviews and a marketing group case activity.

Question 1
Tell me something impressive about yourself that is not on your resume.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Discover in Aug 2008
Interview
The interview process is strange at discover in that management is completely reliant on hr for everything. Hr feeds them the resumes of all candidates hr feels are qualified, while this doesn't seem that out of the ordinary, it did take my resume 2 weeks to finally get to the hiring manager (I only know this because I was an internal candidate and knew the hiring manager). I eventually went through 4 interviews, one conducted by someone who would be in a position below me. A few days after the interview I was told by the hiring manager that I got the job and that hr would contact me soon. 2 weeks later they finally told me! The process is extremely ineffiient.
