I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (San Antonio, TX) in May 2015
Interview
I was lead throughout the store with explanations of various roles I would have and asked if I could fulfill those tasks. After agreeing that I could we talked about rules and regulations, how the next step in the process would go and what to do and I was sent on my way. The next step was a background check but mine took a week and in that time someone else who applied for the job had already gotten it.

Question 1
Are you a morning person or should I try to keep you out of a morning shift?
I interviewed at Dollar General (Roanoke Rapids, NC)
Interview
The interview process was laid back and I felt comfortable to ask the hiring manager questions. I was respected and understood everything the manager was saying. I went into the back and we sat down and she told me about my position. She made it very clear as to what I had to do. She let me ask my questions that I had written before.

Question 1
The one thing they asked me was why I wanted the job.
I applied online through the website and the managed called me. I scheduled an interview over the phone. I was taken to the office where she asked me some questions (I don't remember them) and I handed her my resume. She basically hired me there, I think.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Dollar General (Gower, MO) in Aug 2025
Interview
They told me my responsibilities and I was hired. The only question I was asked is "Do you have any questions?" Most definitely the easiest interview of my life. I got hired for showing up.
