The HR interview was excellent; the HR representative provided all the details about the role and more, leaving me very impressed. However, my experience with the technical interview was mixed. The technical portion included questions about the technology stack and a LeetCode problem. I managed to solve the problem with 25-30 minutes to spare, and I asked if I should improve or change my solution. The interviewer assured me that everything was fine and there was no need for further changes.
Unfortunately, the code was written outside of an IDE, so it couldn’t be compiled during the interview. The interviewer reviewed my solution and accepted it as correct. However, I received a rejection later on, citing gaps in my code. Afterward, when it was compiled, syntax issues were discovered, and he decided to reject my solution. I disagree with his decision, but there’s no way to appeal it.
Anyway, be prepared that the interviewer may not be better than you, so make sure that your solution does not have any syntax issues because you will not be using any IDE. You’ll be writing code where you can’t compile it.
