I had to talk about my previous experiences first.
Then I was asked several questions about testing processes and Java programming.
I had to implement a small algorithm on the whiteboard in Java.
The interview process was quite thorough, many technologies, topics were mentioned.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you test a specific application, which test cases would you create?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at EPAM Systems (Mailand) in Jun 2022
Interview
Following a link on LinkedIn I applied for a position as a developer in June of 2022.
After creating the profile on their website, my application was cancelled for unknown reasons.
I created a new application for "Best matching job" and after a few days I had a meeting with a recruiter that talked to me about the company.
After this they scheduled the tech interview.
This is where the experience turned out to be really bad. The interviewer was an Indian employee employee who literally read a list of questions about Java and related frameworks like in a Trivial Pursuit game.
The last part of the interview consisted of a coding challenge on a web text editor (NOT an IDE!) that didn't even allow you to copy and paste.
This is not how to test how good a developer is. This is not at all like in a real situation that one might have to deal with in a real job.
This kind of interview is just able to assess my memory (which is not great).
