Four phone interviews was casual and positive. Coordinator who scheduled my in-person interview travel was very friendly and personable.
I went in for an all day interview with 7 people. I should have left after the 1st one, the hiring manager. She had no personality whatsoever. She could not understand the structure of my last company which made it very difficult to answer the behavioral based interview questions she was asking. She could not think outside the box so apparently whatever I provided in my response was not on her check sheet.
I sent samples of my work to one of the interviewers who was curious about one of my projects as she wanted to do something similar. I never receive a response. Not a thank you or anything.
Most everyone I interviewed with seemed miserable working there. Very dated building and decor in a bad part of town. Seemed to be a very old school culture. There were hardly any women. Most of the managers were white men.
At the end of the day, I met with someone who had more personality and understood immediately my previous role and structure.
The reject letter was very cold and sterile like the hiring manager. I did not really want to work there but they could have treated me with more dignity and respect. In fact, they could have determined I was not the right fit over the phone and not wasted my time with an in-person interview.
