The initial interview process is quite a time-consuming process. You submit your application, an HR rep emails you to setup a phone interview with a current project manager, as well as to schedule a personality test and a skills assessment. I initially applied for a different position, but the HR rep for that position recommended I apply for the Project Manager position. After completing the personality test, skills assessment, and phone interview, I received an email from the HR rep saying that the Project Manager never was able to connect with me for a phone interview when it had been scheduled for, and tried setting up a new phone call. I had to email her back saying that, yes I had had the chance to connect with the project manager and that we had what I believed was a very positive conversation about Epic, the position, me and my attributes, and any questions I had for him. I provided additional times I could reschedule the phone interview too, just in case. HR rep emailed me back saying that the project manager had just submitted comments from the phone interview and I would hear back from them shortly. Five days later I get an email saying they will be going a different way. I find it embarrassing that they screwed up the phone interview aspect of my application file, and ultimately feel like that was used against me. Additionally, if you've never taken a proctored test before, it is a very uncomfortable experience that made me feel not on my A-game. I feel like I would have done better on the skills assessment if I had taken it at Epic or in a more comfortable environment. Instead I had to tear apart my apartment to accommodate their testing requirements.
