I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Ericsson (Budapest) in Jun 2015
Interview
First there were tests which last about 4 hours. You can fill more tests for example java, linux, c, c++, testing, ... etc. After it you must fill a personality test at home. It contains about 300 questions.
After 2 weeks they invite me to an interview. They ask me about my future plans and coding skills.
After a few weeks they send an email and reject me.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ericsson in Apr 2012
Interview
It was pretty standard. you got a call from recruiter who will arrange the meeting with hiring manager and his engineer. Once the recruiter explains all the benefits and everything, the hiring manager interview with his engineer constitute mainly technical questions. It was pretty smooth and easy process very timely and prompt.

I applied in-person. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Ericsson (Stockholm, ) in Sep 2013
Interview
Getting hold of the hiring manager is a nightmare... and then you have to endure the endless bureaucracy of HR... after you have done all that you are thrown to an external screening company as neither the hiring manager nor the HR department has any way of understanding the hiring process... At the external company everything is repeated and then you are offered less than you agreed from the beginning, a very watered down role, a non-existent compensation package and they look genuinely offended when you asked what happened... as if you found out that they were cheating...
