I applied for a few positions online, but also asked a friend who works for Expedia to refer me. I received a call back in about a week from a recruiter to set up a phone interview. The first interview was with the recruiter and it was a phone interview and screening. She asked about my work history and background. At that point she told me a bit about the positions that I was applying for and felt that I was not a good candidate for those jobs due to the very specific set of experiences that they were looking for, however she felt that with my background I would be a great addition in a different position and at that point the tone of the interview changed. She spent a lot of time asking me about what was important to me in my career and what I was passionate about in my career. She was very friendly and our 1/2 hour scheduled phone interview turned into an hour. She finished off saying that she had 3 positions in mind that she thought I would be a great candidate for, she said that the hiring managers would not be back for 1 week or 2, but that once they were back said she would present my resume to them and hopefully schedule an interview in about 2 weeks. Currently waiting for 2nd interview, I will update this site once it is completed.
