The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments in Jan 2012
Interview
I applied at a job fair, and afterwards I received a phone call requesting an interview over the phone. The first phone call discussed the position and pay, which was $35k plus benefits, and a $2k raise after getting series 7 and 63 licenses. I told him I would "think about it" (I wasn't really interested). I talked with HR again and said yes, and he described what would have to be done to join Fidelity, such as transferring my investments. He explained that shifts could not be moved, and you were stuck with what you were assigned.
The next interview was about a week later and was a personality test. It was supposed to be an hour long, but it lasted 70 minutes. The questions included "What kind of Sales experience do you have? Give an example," "What kind of leadership have you shown? Give an example," and "Talk about a team position and how you contributed." They wanted specific details about each example, but not "too specific." The HR interviewer was not very clear about this, but I can guess they want enough detail to see how you helped, but not too much detail to bog them down (my interviewer wasn't very smart - she didn't know much about finance, amongst other subjects). I also had no sales experience, and I could tell from the beginning she wasn't favorably disposed to me, but I also did ask about transferring into other positions after a while (research). If you want this job, don't ask about transferring. You better really want to be an Investment monkey in a call center.

Question 1
"What kind of Sales experience do you have? Give an example,"
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments in Nov 2011
Interview
Applied online. Recieved phone call next day to schedule a phone interview with their recruiter. Phone interview verified qualities and qualifications the manager was seeking. Phone interview lasted about thirty minutes. Process was intense but pleasant. Recruiter called back the following day and set up an in person interview with hiring manager. In person interview consisted of sitting with manager and assist. manager for about 2 1/2 hours. Questions covered everything from discriptions of previous positions to how I would handle situations at this firm. Also asked what salary I would be looking for . Said they would be in touch in a few weeks, as they just started interviewing. Received a phone call a few weeks later that I was not chosen.
I applied online. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Salt Lake City, UT) in Nov 2011
Interview
A month or two after I applied online, I was contacted by Fidelity through email. The email established a date and time I would be contacted via telephone by a representative from Fidelity. In the call (which I received around 2 months after my application submission), the representative told me the details of the job: employment specifics, salary, hiring dates etc. After she outlined the details of the work, she asked whether or not I was prepared for a phone interview. I agreed to take it. After giving me the behavioral-based interview, the interviewer reviewed the interview with me to tell me the places where my responses could be strengthened. After the interview she said she would stay in touch with me and let me know more details about a hiring date.
Periodically throughout the next few months the Fidelity representative would contact me with updates on potential hiring dates. The periodic updates continued for four or five months without any date coming to fruition. Finally, I was contacted with an set hiring date and was given the details of when and where to for an in-person interview.
On the day of the interview I arrived at the Fidelity office. There were 8-10 people in the interview group with me. We were greeted by a woman who took attendance, then escorted us upstairs to a conference room. In the conference room we were shown a slideshow detailing the company, salary and benefits. After, another representative met with us to discuss the work itself. Finally, a manager of the position we were applying for came to answer any questions we had.
At the end of the presentation around 20 managers came in to the room. Each candidate was escorted out of by two of the managers. The two managers assigned to me gave me a short tour of the floor we were on and then took me to a small conference room. In the conference room I had a 2:1 interview. The questions were very similar to the questions I had received during my phone interview.
After the interview, I was shown around a few of the floors by the managers, then I was taken to another conference room on the base level where I took a test. After that I was free to leave.
About 3 days later I received a call from the first representative I had been in contact with over the months of the process who notified me that I had been hired.
