      Quantitative Analyst Interview

      Oct 10, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer

      Application

      I interviewed at G-Research

      Interview

Applied via a recruiter. Invited for interview within a few days. Same building as DPFM (but different floor), as noted by others. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, the guy who met me was in jeans. I was perhaps too casual though (other candidates were dressed more formally). Anyway, there was a test with some stats, probability, programming and portfolio management questions (I can't give any more detail due to NDA). You sit the test in a meeting room alone. They mark it quickly. I didn't make the grade (not least because I didn't even attempt the portfolio management question due to not understanding the terminology) and was rejected in a friendly, non-awkward way, with an invitation to apply again in 6 months (apparently I did fine on the probability/statistics/programming).

      Question 1

Portfolio management question -- I had not done anything similar before and made no effort to learn about it before the interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at G-Research (London, England) in May 2025

      Interview

First part was a test evaluating math, Stats, machine learning and financial knowledge. Next part was video interview with some employees but rejected soon after. The next part would be an extension on the first part and I believe final rounds involves a day in the office.

      Application

I interviewed at G-Research (London, England)

      Interview

I was asked a Brain teaser type of question. It was quiet difficult but manageable. Great atmosphere. The interviewer was really friendly and nice. I really really enjoyed the interview process would recommend applying.
