Utterly embarassing. I have interviewed once for Gartner and got to the second to last interview (There are 5 in total), was given feedback from my recruiter and had an overall positive experience, fair enough. Fast foward 8 months I get a message from another recruiter on LinkedIn inviting me to interview for the same position, we have a first introductory call and 2 days later (what?) he sends over the material to prepare for the interview. Too bad he sent over the wrong material, I emailed him about it asking for clarification and he did not reply until the day of the interview where he casually told me "Oh yeah that's changed, don't worry about it". Too bad I spent my weekend at home preparing for this joke of an interview. Long story short: I go through the interview drawing from feedback from my previous interview process and the recruiter basically blasts me for doing very poorly (Keep in mind I passed the same interview with the first recruiter for the SAME job position). It seems like the same answers can get you praise from one recruiter and get you blasted by another one. How is this possible? Not to mention that in the middle of the interview the recruiter that was shadowing the process jumped in without even showing her face telling me in a very condescending tone that Gartner always looks for the same traits and I should have done a better job. Cherry on top I get told that I will receive feedback within 48 hours and the guys OF COURSE never gets back to me. All of this to end up making cold calls in London with a below average salary in a position with an obviously very high churn rate. The worst part is they try to pigeon hole you into the perfect candidate by correcting details of your answers, there's a line between constructive feedback and weirdo behavior and in my second interview it was definitely crossed.
