I applied online. I interviewed at Gartner (New York, NY) in Apr 2017
Interview
Applied through Linkedin; the hiring manager contacted the day after. Scheduled for the initial screening at the office. He seemed genuine to care about my ability to perform and asked several specific questions about the researching ability. After a week, the manager personally emailed back to send the rejection email. I thought it was a nice touch. But they also seem like they have a wrong standard for the position that they are hiring for. They weren't clear about the position's ability to grow in the firm or how it can be interactive with other departments. They expected a very deep depth knowledge of the industries that they were working for, and have experienced skill sets for the entry-level position. It seemed little absurd and didn't talk about any training in prior.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
what is the industry that you are interested in?
what kind of research program are you capable of using?
What company has pulled off a smart strategy recently and why do you think it's impressive?
Smooth first call from the recruiter with the basics discussed including fit checks and compensation overview. The second interview was online and seem pretty chilled too however I believe they require a specific type of fit and answers to progress. Best to prepare with the guide from the job posting and tailor your answers as best as possible.
This interview was for one of the Gartner subsidiary company. There was take home assessment. If you pass the assessment, there is an invitation to a in person interview to go over the assessment and ask additional questions.
I applied through college or university. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Gartner (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Feb 2025

There were 3 rounds- 1 HR and 2 business rounds. They focused mainly on the candidates understanding of secondary research and past work experience as well as situation based questions, going into very minute details. Also they preferred that we answer using STAR framework.
