I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (London, England) in Jul 2024
Interview
Overall a positive experience of the process. Disappointed to not receive an offer considering the amount of preparation that needs to be done in order to be successful (or not, in my case).
3 stage process:
1st stage: Informal call with a Recruiter - research Gartner, why sales and try to be charismatic and you'll get through this one.
2nd stage: Formal call with a different Recruiter - STAR questions e.g. Tell me about a time when you were challenged by a leader. Tell me about a time you faced rejection etc. etc. This was fairly tough - I'd recommend doing a lot of preparation on scenarios for the STAR questions. Again, identify why Sales & why Gartner.
3rd stage: Meeting with Hiring Manager(s). Overall another tough interview. Similar to the 2nd stage. Comprised of an introduction, STAR questions and a short roleplay which you will receive information on ahead of time.
Overall, it was really useful to receive feedback at each stage of the interview. Unfortunately, not a whole lot more I can offer in terms of preparation. It's largely to do with how you are on the day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you were challenged by a leader?
The first meeting was with the talent acquisition and jeez, it really felt like I was having a conversation with chat gpt. The guy was reading his script the whole time. 2nd meeting, The recruiter was asking the most generic, and non-sense questions. At the end she didn't even let me finish asking my questions and interupted me to end the meeting. How disrespectful. They really want you to act like chat gpt. their "behaviour questions", most likely made straight by chat gpt should be totally reviewed.
Multiple phone calls/video calls with recruiter. Final interview video call is virtual with a panel where you have to role play a scenario. Very feedback driven and the recruiter was very nice.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to get close to someone or start a relationship to get what you wanted.
3-phase interview process. Incredibly feedback-driven. A high number of behaviour-based questions are asked. Everyone is very friendly, but will challenge you by asking uncomfortable questions. Answers should be well-structured and coherent.
