I had two telephone interviews with HR. Three interviews with different Sales
Managers and the final interview was panel based with senior HR, Head of sales and three Sales Managers. I was asked to perform a role play for 20 minutes whilst trying to ignore the 6 senior Gartner Managers/Execs taking notes. From my point of view, role play is a poor method to judge someone's capabilities. It's not real-life and is staged. I'm an excellent sales person not an actor. I was able to demonstrate my previous successes (P60's) and talk about real examples of the value I had delivered in helping businesses to achieve their strategic goals. However it seems that Gartner make their recruitment decisions based on your acting skills not actual achievements. This is the first time I have experienced this type of appraisal method. Very disappointed and felt I wasted a lot of time and energy pursuing a career with Gartner.
