I applied online. I interviewed at Gartner (Weatherford, TX) in Jul 2024
Interview
I only made it through 2 rounds. A quick phone interview and then a longer 1 hour phone interview. I was not asked to join a zoom, but she (the recruiter) was on zo for me to see. She was pleasant to work with and kind! Once she realized I was not interested in a sales position and how my experience was more in the Customer Success department - she didn’t waste any more time and gave me the details to reach out to the recruiter for those openings and where to apply for them and the titles of those job postings. I also did have to take a cognitive test after the first phone interview, prior to getting the green light for the next interview. I believe she told me that Gartner was voted one of the hardest places to interview at in 2023 as #13 on the list for Forbes or Fortune 500 magazine. (Fact check that because I don’t remember what publication it was).

Question 1
Tell me about yourself and how your past experience aligns with this role?
They have reached out to me for a job every year and I have interviewed with them 2 times and have never made it past the 1st interview. Confused why a recruiter reaches out to me anymore?
It was long and rigorous, often feeling extremely high pressure, with not a lot of constructive criticism. There are 5 rounds and each with a role-play. It's safe to say this is not an easy interview process. I'm not sure how they do their prospecting, but I was apparently a 'great fit' for the role - didn't show that enthusiasm during our calls.
Intensive - multiple rounds led by a recruiter. Expect 2 rounds of role play, around 4 rounds total. 2 with a recruiter, one with a lead skills expert and another panel with VPs and hiring managers.
