They are looking for seriously talented sales people. Make no mistake, this organization has a great offering and they want the best in the business to get out there and sell for them.
I learned an incredible amount - about the company and about myself. My final interview comprised of me presenting why I should be hired, as well as why I would want to work for Gartner. This exercise made me really ensure my values and the company's were aligned. In addition to focusing on what was most important to me in my next career move.
I'm a seasoned IT salesperson and I have interviewed with the largest SI's and telcos, and can hand on heart say that Gartner leaves them for dust in qualifying top talent.
I chose Gartner over other offers, because I believe they have the best structure, leadership and training - all to assist in bringing me to the next level in my career.

They are looking for quick-thinking, articulate, well-presented professionals, and their questioning will ensure they establish this in every interview stage.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Fort Myers, FL) in May 2016
Interview
The interview process took about 4 weeks, and consisted of 3 telephone interviews before a final interview at their Fort Myers, FL office. The interview questions were behavioral-based, and the interviewers really dug into my personality to evaluate whether or not I would be a good fit for the company. The final interview consisted of a tour of the Gartner facilities, whiteboard presentation, panel-interview, and a sales role-play.
My advice for interviewing at Gartner - Be yourself!!! Also, it is OK to ask for help because Gartner really values coachability. If you don't know the answer it is better to ask questions and receive feedback rather than making something up.
