Interview
I'm pretty busy in my current role, but I made time for an initial screening call after a Gartner recruiter contacted me.
My firm utilizes Gartner resources and it has a generally good reputation there.
The Gartner reviews on Glassdoor are a dumpster fire but I thought I'd jump on the call and hear what the recruiter had to say.
Fifteen minutes before the call, the recruiter cancels, says he'll get back to me, and never does.
Not a big deal really, but the image projected from the style and tone of the recruiter's emails, and the abrupt way the call was cancelled with no follow up, was amateurish and flaky.
The guy probably saved me a lot of time and hassle anyway, so I should probably be grateful.
To Gartner: If you are going to shop for high-performers at top consulting firms I suggest you up your recruiting game.
