Met with the recruiter for a phone screen. Conversation went well, recruiter said "perfect answer" multiple times during interview. When the conversation got to pay it was clear that Gartner is trying to underpay this position. All signs and websites speak about how Gartner pays well but my number caused an issue as they have a "limited budget". Apparently they wouldn't be close to 6 figures for this manager role which is shocking based on how they share that they compensate employees well....Recieved a notification shortly after that they moved forward with other applicants.
Don't talk about how you compensate employees well and then try to undervalue candidates when apply.
