I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Fort Myers, FL) in Jan 2020
Interview
Recruiter call, hiring manager call, writing test, team call ... all very well structured and handled, and while not "easy," very thorough and well managed process. Didn't get an offer ultimately but have hopes for future.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (New York, NY) in Feb 2016
Interview
Very organized and thorough. The recruiter was very nice and quick to get back to me. I had to take a writing test, which was challenging but not impossible. After I "passed" the test, I had a one-on-one phone interview with the hiring manager. She asked some tough questions. My impression is that they like to have people who have direct experience. While I have a lot of writing experience in general, I didn't have enough in business or technology. My only wish is that they got back to with a definite no. I had to assume it was a no after not hearing back for a month.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Gartner (Stamford, CT) in Aug 2013
Interview
Six months long. Several phone call interviews, two in-person interviews. They clearly had specific concerns for a fit with a difficult manager, which I can understand, *now*, but at the time seemed like they simply understood the position was sometimes stressful. Pay attention to turnover -- ask questions about how often this position is filled, and where the departed employees go.
