I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2020
Interview
Interview via google call using google doc as a white board. The interview questions are not difficult. I think they really test how you communicate and how you present the idea in a clear and simple way.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the standard error of the mean? Does education level effect salary? Question about interaction effect. Plot histogram chart and generate a normal distribution.
Was painfully long and rigorous. A phone call, a coding challenge, a whiteboard session, and a culture fit. It was really just testing that you are a smart and capable engineer.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Google in Sep 2020
Interview
Recruiters reached out to me in the job fair and I had the technical interview (about 1 Hr) and virtual online interview (contains 5 45-min interviews) in September. It's my first time interviewing with tech companies for a full-time position. Most of the interview questions are reasonable. However, I didn't quite understand the questions asked by the last interviewer and I knew I wouldn't pass then.
