I applied online. I interviewed at Google (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2023
Interview
Started off with a phone screen and then followed by 5 rounds testing various areas. Product strategy, design, estimation, etc.
The phone screen was around my current achievements and I was asked to talk about my fav product and what I would change about it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What’s your favorite product, how would you improve it.
In total it's 7 interviews. It helps to know all products frameworks. They asked interesting questions like, how to build a fridge for the blind, how to build an elevator for skyscrapers, etc. Interviewers are nice and I believe it helps for your responses to be reasonable and not super hypothetical, but that's just my 2 cent.
Tested communication and product skills, leaning into product design and improvement questions and general problem solving skills. The interviewer was very supportive and guided how to proceed with the problem statement.
Interview focused on a standard product design question, involving designing a new product for travellers that Google would launch, and explaining reasoning and prioritisation. Follow up questions would be asked regarding the product design.
