I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Google (Buenos Aires) in Sep 2021
Interview
El proceso de entrevistas tuvo cuatro o cinco instancias distintas, con jefes, reclutadores, etc. Algunas en inglés, otras en español. Finalmente no me llamaron. No se si quedaban muchas entrevistas posibles
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
Starts off with a recruiter phone screen that lasts about 30 minutes, followed by an initial 45-minute phone interview with a PM, then an all-day set of 5 separate 45 minute interviews on-site (currently virtual on-site due to the pandemic).
It was generally a positive experience and everyone I spoke to was pleasant. I believe there's a very specific type of PM they are looking for. Every PM I spoke to seemed basically the same and I wouldn't say there much diversity in the types of PMs. Google hires PMs as generalists so maybe this makes sense for them. Obviously something's working for them!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about how I thought the technology behind a certain product worked, whether or not a certain new market was a good/bad idea and why. It wasn't nearly as technical as I thought (and studied for).
Lengthy and intense. The process is designed to minimize the risk of hiring bad employees, however it seems to miss nuances and allows to lose good people as well. However Google can afford that, since most of the most dedicated and talented candidates attempt to get a job here.
