I had 2 coding rounds followed by a virtual onsite day of 4 interviews. The first 2 coding rounds went fairly well with the first one being a fluke as I provided a correct solution which the interviewer failed to question me on correctly. This was amended and I was asked to complete another coding interview which I did and passed. The on-site interview was divided into 2 technicals, 1 system design and 1 behavioral. the behavioral was easy and went great, the technicals also went well but I struggled a bit throughout. The system design interview could have been conducted better.
The interview process consisted of five rounds: four technical coding sessions and one behavioral assessment. The coding challenges were predominantly LeetCode-style problems, designed to evaluate algorithmic thinking and problem-solving abilities under typical interview conditions. The behavioral round focused on teamwork and cultural fit.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2024
Interview
After the first coding assessment, recruiter reached out and scheduled the recruiter screening. It was with multiple candidates in the call and they explained every step of the process to all of us. Next, scheduled our technical rounds through email. The questions themselves were medium difficulty. No feedback either, just a vague pass or fail at each round. All of them were really supportive during the technical rounds. They even got to tell me stories about how they joined Google.
