I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Google (London, England) in Jan 2013
Interview
Good & Quick. Varied number of questions and plenty of time to answer them. Lots of support and hints were given creating a more free flowing, right -brain hemisphere process. Multiple viewpoints and answers were acceptable. I felt like I had found home and the whole experience was quite spiritual. #blessed
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (New York, NY)
Interview
I had two phone interviews and one call with the recruiter. The recruiter is kind and polite.
There were very common network and Linux questions. The second interview was supposed to be a coding interview but I only got one simple coding question that took minutes to finish.
I hoped there would be something about Cloud technology or Web Application development which the title suggests. Unfortunately the role is all about network/platform availability and the study guide reminds me the contents table of the book UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook. It doesn't seem to require much coding skills as well, as it took sometime for the interviewer to recall how lists work in python.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Leesburg, IN)
Interview
Recruiter phone screen which consisted of 15-20 true false/multiple choice tech questions. Followed by google hangout interview. This involved web related tech questions and also role playing walking a customer through a network related problem. Final round onsite in NY which had four back to back interviews - web technologies, coding on paper, db design, project manager behavioral. Signed NDA.
