I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HSBC (Hongkong) in Jan 2015
Interview
I first did a phone interview for the summer intern position. After about 2 weeks I got a cold call from another supervisor for the 2nd round interview. When doing the phone interview (screening interview), the person who interviewed me was trying to pressure me and I think this is how the company screen interviees--they prefer someone who can endure such pressure well.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked about several valuation models and formula such as how to calculate ROA, EBITDA and so on.
the interview process was very quick and simple they did not go into detail regarding what the role is about they just asked why i wanted to join hsbc and one other question, it ended in 10minutes
The interview and the interviewers were really friendly and warm, especially for a student with not much experience. The process may be daunting but the interview was good. the questions were mainly about fit questions so just be aware of yourself.
