After months of applying I finally received an email response from HR. The only communicaton was a request for salary expectations and asking what I earned at my last position.. twice. How can I give an expectation without having any details of the position in which I applied for? I didn't even receive a phonecall to discuss this, just an email. It's really disappointing that a company such as this would be screening out applicants based on previous salary history. That speaks volumes..they are clearly losing out on qualified candidates because they seem to be weeding out people based on prior earnings..Even worse, when I wouldn't give out my personal finances I never heard back from them. Would they divulge what they were paying the last person in that role? I dont think so. Instead of playing a game why would you just not list the salary range in the job posting so candidates who feel that is within their needs would actually be the ones to apply and actually have a fair chance? I'm more interested in being offered what the company feels the position is worth rather than basing it off of my previous earnings. Thanks but no thanks.
