      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hollister Co. (Edmonton, AB) in Nov 2012

      Interview

You can either apply online or in store. When you go to the interview, do NOT bring a resume because they will think you are wierd. Better yet, don't bring anything, if you are a fan of Hollister cloth, wear your favourite Hollister outfit (actually, wearing something that you see on the employees in store would be good if you happen to have them). If you don't like Hollister cloth, that's alright as well, just wear something similar to Hollister style. (However, for this interview, I would suggest you know some basic thing about their cloth, like their target customers, main style...etc.) Do NOT, I repeat, NEVER wear formal stuff. It might help if you do a little research on the Hollister "look policy". Girls, you want to look pretty for the interview but try to not overdo your makeup. They will ask you things about diversity and team work. All in all, compared to other job interviews, their questions are very easy and you can just improvise it on the spot easily. If you are the kind of people that gets nervous when you see the interviewer, don't worry either; they conduct group interviews, which means you'll be sitting with 4 or 5 others. If you don't know what to say, rephrase what the others said. Even if you are picked first and don't know what to say, just tell the manager that you need a minute to think over the question. He/she will skip over you and move on to the others (they will come back to you later). Another thing that's important is to make friends with people in your interview group! They are not your enemies, it's not like only 2 out of 5 people get the job after each interview. Sometimes they all get hired, other times they don't. Overall, act cool, don't look like you are super prepared. (Well, it's good that you are doing some research since you are on this site and reading my tips, but just don't act too academic.) At the end of the interview, my manager asked us to yell "how's it going" across the mall just to see how outgoing we are. I don't know if they do it at every store interview though. After the interview, I think you have 2 weeks (or 1 week?) during which you wait for the call, be patient and try not to call them.

      Question 1

There wasn't any cutomer related question at my interview, but you might want to prepare in case they ask you for an example of when you have worked in a team.

      Interview

Easy, basic questions. I do think there may be a bias towards some people but overall was a basic interview. Not sure how they run it now but my interview was done in the mall food court.
