I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Huawei Technologies (Kuala Lumpur) in Aug 2025
Interview
The entire process was unnecessarily long, confusing, and extremely unprofessional. For the first position, I went through 3 rounds of interviews and was told I was shortlisted. After waiting nearly 2 months with no updates, HR finally informed me that the hiring had been frozen.
A month later, another HR reached out and said a new role was open, and asked if I was interested. I decided to give it another try. This time I had to attend 4 interview rounds — one additional round was required because of their internal discussions and shifting plans to move me to another business unit. This clearly showed a lack of proper recruitment planning and very poor alignment between internal decision makers.
Despite this, I continued with the process and eventually received a verbal offer. We even discussed salary expectations, and I was told to wait for the official next steps (medical check-up and final paperwork). The HR explained that the process might be delayed because of public holidays but assured me that everything was moving forward.
After months of waiting, chasing, and trusting their words, I was suddenly told that the position would not proceed due to internal restructuring. In total, I spent several months going through multiple interview rounds, waiting weeks in between, and was ultimately left with nothing after being given assurances and even a verbal offer.
This is highly unprofessional. It not only wasted a significant amount of my time but also showed that the company lacks proper planning, clear communication, and accountability in their recruitment process. A candidate’s time and effort should be respected, and such repeated issues indicate a serious need for the company to reflect and improve its hiring approach.
