      Associate Software Developer Interview

      Oct 10, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (Washington, DC) in Oct 2021

      Interview

Three hackerrank questions which then led to a behavioral interview which asked basic questions mostly about team work and presenting, then a technical interview which involved going through your resume and answering questions regarding your work background and what you worked on. This entire process took around a month. A day after my technical interview, I was contacted by my recruited who informed me the job had been moved and I'd have to relocate if I did get an offer. There was no relocation package and I'd only be working with a sign on bonus to do this, so I declined to go forward with the position at this point.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Have you ever worked on a team? Have you ever made a pitch or did a presentation when something went wrong? How would you mitigate something going wrong in a presentation? If your project stopped working the night before it was about to be pitched to a client, what would be the steps you took to fix it? What is a linked list and what's a main drawback of them? Is there any way you could have improved one of your previous projects? Do you have any questions for me?

I interviewed at IBM (Lowell, MA)

      Interview

A recruiter reached out to me about scheduling some time to speak. They just scheduled a time without even confirming my availability first. Thought it would be an initial phone screen, but was a technical interview with someone different than I was emailing. The lack of communication and information was disappointing
