I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Indeed (Tokio) in Sep 2021
Interview
After initial introductions the interview proper begins with 10 minutes of quick fire trivia questions. The remaining 45 minutes were spent on two LeetCode style coding questions (one easy, the other medium).
After providing a solution to the first problem I began on the second, shortly thereafter the interviewer told me he needed to take a bathroom break. I'm not going to knock anyone for needing that, but the right thing to do in this instance would've been to pause the interview for five minutes. After failing to deliver a full solution to the second problem the interview concluded on time.
I felt that my performance was adversely impacted due to my interviewer's absence. I ultimately got the expected output to print but feel I would've been able to deliver a complete solution had I had those extra minutes to ask clarifying questions.
Indeed requires two complete solutions in order to proceed to the next round. I'm truly gutted that I wasn't in a position where I could deliver the goods.

Applied online. First round interview was a video interview with a recruiter. Second round was a phone interview with a manager on the team. Third and final round was a phone interview with director on the team. The second and third round both consisted of case study presentations from my portfolio and background/behavioral based questions.

Question 1
Walk me through a past UX Research project from your portfolio
Had six interviews. Two on the phone with HR and then two with direct team members and two with related department heads. Everyone seemed smart, driven, and passionate about Indeed. Everyone made it seem like a great place to work.
Communication with HR rep was a little limited — process did not follow what was laid out in our initial conversation, no one seemed to have seen my portfolio which was required for the application, the messages i got were standard templates that hadn’t been customized for my process. Feedback was just that the team was going in a different directly and i would have valued candid feedback about why.
I struggled to use the indeed video interview platform so would suggest trying that in advanced.
Hi there, thank you for leaving us your honest review about your experience. This is certainly not the experience we want interviewees to have or feel after being through the recruitment process.
For that, we apologise! Your feedback has been recorded and will be passed onto the team to review so we can ensure that situations like this do not arise again in the future or are handled better by our team #insideindeed.
If you'd like to provide us with additional confidential feedback please email us at inside@indeed.com.
