I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Indeed in Nov 2020
Interview
Submitted application online through campus hiring and received first round technical test. The test includes a sales case to solve using data. You will also need to create some visualizations and model to predict the sales in future. Test itself was easy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How many sales leads are there within the dataset?
I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Dec 2020
Interview
Multi-stage process: Resume Deep Dive, Architecture / System Design, Whiteboard / Coding, Code Review, Manager, Close. The recruiter did a great job guiding new through each phase. It was thorough, but not difficult. Employees from many departments and levels conducted the interviews and provided the results back upstream.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to describe a large project I participated in during several stages. This served as the example project for follow up questions, so choose wisely.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Indeed (Singapur) in Feb 2021
Interview
There is an online assessment round via Karat, followed by 4 rounds of interview (4 hours total) covering System Design, Code Walkthrough, and (2) Coding round. They emphasise a lot on collaboration, which made the whole interview process fun with good interviewers whom you could bounce ideas with. The experience was good for my System design and code walkthrough. I love the rigour and the amount of thought they put into their interviewing process.
However, for one of my coding round, I was unable to understand and code the problem out. What really annoyed me was that the interviewers decided to switch off their mics halfway through the interview, and chose not to prompt further. Furthermore it was on live on Hackerrank, so I could see that they were not even on the Hackerrank page itself too. I may be bad at this question but come on, you do not have to behave like this.
It's quite a pity that the whole process was fun and promising until the interviewers for the final round behaved badly.
Overall I would say Indeed internship selection process is almost FAANG-like standards for a company in Singapore, and it is definitely worth a try. Nonetheless, perhaps EQ training is required for some of their employees.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
We’re glad you experienced a fun and engaging system design and code walkthrough session, and that you value collaboration as it is one of the biggest things we champion here at Indeed.
However, we are sorry to hear about your experience during the coding round. We understand that interviewing for a job is stressful and open communication, especially when you needed clarity during an assessment would have been helpful. We encourage all our interviewers to be accessible throughout the process so that candidates like yourself are able to ask and clarify questions. We will provide this feedback to our interviewers and make sure they remain mindful for future interviews.
We hope you will continue to consider Indeed as an organisation to be a part of should another opportunity present itself. In the meantime, please stay in touch via our social channels @insideindeed.
