They make a posting and say it is hybrid or remote, but what they really mean is hybrid or in office. They asked if I wanted to relocate, and I said no. And that was the end of the interview. So what they care about most is whether you would be willing to go back into the office.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Jul 2022
Interview
The hiring manager reached out to me via LinkedIn and asked me to apply. I was then turned over to a recruiter who scheduled the first interview. Each interview went well and I was moved on to the next stage. After the third interview - nothing. I reached out to the recruiter to check status and was told someone would be in touch. Crickets.
The rapport with the Indeed staff was great so I was truly perplexed that they just disappeared.
This wasn’t a complete waste of my time though- now I know Indeed isn’t where I’d want to be.

Interview
1 HackerRank preliminary screen
4 rounds back to back, 2 technical 2 business
It was about a 2 month process and my recruiter apparently quit Indeed, so I didn't hear about my rejection for a while. Overall the process was long and I don't understand the rejection if I passed technical screens, but at least the folks I interviewed with seemed cool.
