I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, OR) in Dec 2011
Interview
One of my friend passed my resume to the group leaders.
After a month a group leader contacted me and later had a phone interview which consists of questions related to my research and 'why intel' and 'why this job'.
Got a call for onsite which consisted a presentation followed by technical, behavioral and general question.
Most asked question was "what is the biggest challenge you faced in your research and how did you solve it"?
Give an example of conflict with your colleague and how did you deal with it?
Whole onsite interview was full day and very informal. Most of the 1on1s are in the cafeteria.
At the end had a 1on1 with group leader followed by area manager.

It was pretty straightforward overall. They mainly asked questions about my resume, previous work experience, and the projects and research work I completed during my graduate studies. The conversation was conversational and focused on understanding my background and technical experience.
