I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation in Jan 2012
Interview
Applied online and had a phone interview with the hiring manager. It was a very technical phone interview with questions about basics of electronic materials. I was invited to visit onsite at the end of the phone interview. Had 6 1:1 interviews, a 45 minute presentation and met with some senior managers in the end. Overall it was a good experience. A lot of very technical questions and behavioral and situation based questions. Got an email in a few days stating they were not going to offer me a position.

Interview
Process begins with a phone screen with recruiter, followed by hiring manager discussion, then onsite interviews consisting of several one-on-one sessions, where candidates are usually expected to deliver a presentation.
It was pretty straightforward overall. They mainly asked questions about my resume, previous work experience, and the projects and research work I completed during my graduate studies. The conversation was conversational and focused on understanding my background and technical experience.
