I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Albuquerque, NM) in Aug 2011
Interview
Initial communication was via email. I filled out some forms online and then I was invited for a full day of interviews. They emailed me a schedule with the panel members for each interview slot. When I arrived at the site, a secretary met me and led me to the room where I would have my first interview.
The first interview was with one of the factory managers who asked me a technical question based on material that was on my resume. I had to go to a board in the room and draw diagrams to explain the concept he wanted me to explain. I was also required to recall and derive some equations related to the question. That interview lasted for about 30 minutes, and immediately the factory manager left and I had a three person panel interview with 3 managers. I was asked questions related to my thinking process, how I interacted with people, and other general interview questions. After that I was given a presentation with an explanation of benefits.
After the benefits presentation I gave a seminar to some of my interviewers on my own graduate work. I then went to lunch with 3 interviewers, and was interviewed during lunch. There were two other 2-person interviews after lunch where I was asked technical and behavioral type questions. Overall it was a long day but it was nothing that was too strenuous.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Intel Corporation in Apr 2011
Interview
Initial phone screening asking about my research while at graduate school. At the end of the phone call I immediately was scheduled for an on-site interview. On-site interview was an entire day long. It consisted of a presentation, 10 interviews with managers and potential coworkers, and a group lunch outing with potential coworkers. The on-site interview was long and exhausting. Individual interviews were relatively informal, asking various questions such as why the interest of Intel. They tended to have some technical questions about my presentation, as well as the usual behavioral and technical questions. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. Group tended to be younger. Everyone has pagers that were going off a lot. Seems like a highly stressful and highly rewarding job from speaking to people.
